With improved weather finally arriving in the Midwest region, the Eastern Illinois softball squad have added a couple doubleheaders to their spring lineup, as the Panthers are now set to travel to Evansville and Western Kentucky this coming Saturday (March 13) and Tuesday (March 16), respectively.

Frisco, Texas, has been selected as the new host site for the NCAA Division I Football Championship game. Frisco emerged from a pool of several cities that submitted bids to serve as the host site for the championship game for the next three years, beginning with the 2010 season. Hosted by the Southland Conference, the championship game will be played at Pizza Hut Park on Jan. 7, 2011.

Student Athletes of the Week
Athlete of the Week
Darren Patterson is the Student-Athlete of the Week after helping the EIU 4x400 relay team break the school-record time that dated back to 1978. At the Iowa State NCAA Last Chance Meet, he also ran a personal-record time (21.73) in the 200-meter dash, which ranks seventh in school history. The OVC Indoor Track Male Athlete of the Year won the 200-meter dash at the conference championships this season.
