CHARLESTON, Ill. -- Late last month (Saturday, August 28th), Eastern Illinois softball players and coaching staff took part in the annual Ashmore Days Parade, riding on the Camp New Hope Train, which garnered the grand prize award at the event.

Head coach Kim Schuette and members of her squad spend the day interacting and having fun with the campers on the train.

“I want to thank EIU softball for being involved in the community,” said Camp new Hope board member, Dennis Anderson. “Kudos to sophomore Andi Morgan for putting these two great groups together.”

Camp New Hope, located on Lake Mattoon, is for mentally and physically challenged campers in the area.
