FRESHMAN (2008-09): Kish played in 16 games, including 11 OVC contests… logged a season-high 15 minutes in the win against Mississippi Valley State, making a pair of 3-pointers… made a key jumper with 6:48 remaining that gave EIU the lead for good and grabbed a season-high five rebounds in the win against Illinois-Chicago… hit a big first-half 3-pointer in the road win at Morehead State… saw her most action of the season in February, playing in seven of the eight games and averaging 5 ½ minutes per contest.
HIGH SCHOOL: Kish was a three-year letter-winner for coach Christine Borst… won the IHSA 3-point shootout championship as a junior, earning “Queen of the Hill” honors… two-time IBCA Honorable Mention All-State and All-Southwest Suburban Conference selection as upperclassman… twice named Top 50 Players in the State and Honorable Mention All-Area by the Chicago Sun-Times… Daily Southtown All-Area as a senior after being an Honorable Mention pick as a junior… team captain and MVP as a senior… voted most athletic by her senior class… gym class leader… also played for the Illinois Hustle AAU team.
PERSONAL: No. 1 sports highlight was beating Bolingbrook High in double overtime her sophomore year. “They ended up winning state and that loss in our packed gym was one of their two losses that season”… her parents have been a major influence on her sports career because “of the support they have given me since day one”… most admires her AAU coach Derrill Kipp because “he knew exactly what to do in all situations and was a major influence on where I am today with the things he taught me”… daughter of John and Joanne Kish… MAJOR: Undecided.
