FRESHMAN (2008-09): Walker played in 31 games, all but the first two games of the season… logged double-figure minutes in seven of the final eight games of the regular season and the first two OVC Tournament contests… played a season-high 22 minutes in the Mississippi Valley State win… scored a season-high nine points, all in the second half, on a perfect 4-of-4 shooting from the field in the regular-season finale, a win at Tennessee State… made each of her first 12 free throw attempts before finally missing in the regular-season finale… made 6-of-6 at the free throw line in the final 2:10 to help seal the Illinois-Chicago win… made a 3-pointer in her first collegiate game… connected on a 3-pointer and scored seven points in the home win against Morehead State… recorded a season-high four assists in the IPFW win… was 20-for-36 (.556) from the field in OVC play… made 10-of-13 shots from the field in January, with two of the misses coming from 3-point land… shot the ball well at home: going 13-of-24 from the field and 11-of-12 at the free throw line.
HIGH SCHOOL: Walker was a four-year letter-winner for coach Mike Sowers… established new school records for 3-point percentage (career) and assists (single season)… MVP of the Kentucky State High School AAU Tournament, leading her team to the championship in 2008... two-time honorable mention all-state as an upperclassman… two-time all-city selection, earning first teams honors as a senior and second team honors a junior… 2008 all-region… two-time District All-Tournament Team… Dunbar won back-to-back titles at the 32-team Berea Holiday Classic her upperclassman seasons… also played for the Louisville Lady Legends AAU team.
PERSONAL: No. 1 sports highlight was hitting a half-court shot at the end of third quarter in a district game her senior year. She went on to score 14 points in the fourth quarter and her team won by 18… her mother has been a major influence on her sports career because “she has pushed me to do my best when I felt like stopping, and she showed me where basketball can take me”… most admires coach Sowers because “he taught me a whole lot of things I didn’t know and made me a better player”… her aunt Barbara Branham played basketball at Central State University in Ohio… daughter of Scot Walker and Monique Branham… MAJOR: Undecided.
