Methods of Giving
Annual Cash Donations

Cash, check, and credit card transactions (Visa, MasterCard or Discover) are the most common forms of annual support. These gifts allow the athletics department to allocate money to the area of greatest need. Cash memberships at or above the Coaches Club level may designate their contribution to the sport of their choice, with the first $500 going towards the LAIR Fund. Former EIU student-athletes and family members of current EIU student-athletes may designate a minimum of $100 to their specific sport.

Gifts-in-Kind

Contributions of goods and services are often provided in support of the athletics department. Gift-in-kind donations are receipted by the Eastern Illinois University Foundation on a yearly basis.

Matching Gifts

Many companies match employee contributions. Panther Club credit is given for your personal donation and the company’s matching gift.

Gifts of Investment

Appreciated securities, real estate or tangible personal assets are accepted by the Panther Club and the Eastern Illinois University Foundation.

Endowed Gifts

Endowments offer a donor the opportunity to sustain a family name in perpetuity. A new scholarship or endowment can be created with a minimum gift of $10,000.

Other Forms of Giving

The EIU Athletics Department accepts planned gifts through wills, bequests, charitable trusts or gift annuities.

Gifts are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by IRS guidelines. Please consult your tax advisor concerning the deductibility of your contributions to the Panther Club.
