BOISE, Ida. – Former Eastern Illinois defensive back Terrence Sanders has been making the most of his post-collegiate football opportunity as he earned his second Ironman of the Week Award as a member of the Arena Football League 2's Boise Burn.

In last week's win over Amarillo, Sanders returned two kickoffs for touchdowns, intercepted a pass and recorded four tackles in Boise's 51-40 victory. A third kickoff return for score was negated by a penalty. Previously this season Sanders won the league's Ironman Award for his performance against Central Valley.

For the season, Sanders is leading the Burn with six interceptions and 54.5 tackles. He is averaging 32.1 yards per kickoff return, which would lead the af2 if he had enough kick return attempts. Sanders has returned five kickoffs for scores this season.

“I don't know of a weakness that the guy has,” said Boise head coach Brent Winter. “He's one of the most complete football player's I've been around in my coaching career.”

Currently in his second year playing with Boise, Sanders played for Eastern Illinois from 2002-06 helping the Panthers make three NCAA FCS playoff appearances in that time. In 2005 he was second in the OVC in passes defended. As a senior in 2006 he returned an interception for a touchdown in EIU's playoff loss to Illinois State.
