Eastern Illinois football picked up its third straight win on Saturday with a 30-17 victory over Tennessee State. This week EIU football moved up to the top team also receiving votes in the AFCA FCS Coaches Top 25 poll as they improved to 7-3 on the year.
This marks the eighth straight week that EIU has been nationally ranked or been among the teams also receiving votes in the FCS Top 25 polls. The Panthers landed at No. 25 in the national rankings earlier this year, making their first national poll appearance since the 2016 season.
The seven wins this season are the most for EIU since the 2015 season which is also the last time the Panthers made the FCS playoffs. EIU plays its final regular season game this Saturday with an 11 a.m. kickoff at Robert Morris.
South Dakota State continues to be the ranked No. 1 in both national polls.
