OVC Championships Day Two
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. –
Keegan Gowin continued his solid play at the 2023 Ohio Valley Conference Championships as he shot a one-over par 73 on Monday to stand as Eastern Illinois men's golf leader after 36-holes played at Dalhousie Golf Club.

Gowin opened play on Sunday with a round of 76 ranking fourth in the field with five birdies. He added five more to that total on Monday and is tied for second in the field with number of birdies in the tournament with ten.  Gowin moved slightly up the leaderboard sitting in a tie for 19th with a 36-hole score of 149.

EIU's leader after round one,
Preston Smith, turned in his second straight round of 75 as he is tied for 21st with a total of 150.

Trey Oswald carded a round a 75 on Monday to stand tied for 29th with a 36-hole score of 153.

As a team EIU improved upon its team score shooting 301 on Monday. The top four teams following Tuesday's final 18-holes will play a match-play format on Wednesday to determine the OVC team champion.

Little Rock leads the team competition with UT Martin moving into second.  SIUE and Southern Indiana round out the top four in the team standings. Anton Albers of Little Rock is the individual leader after a round of seven-under par on Monday.

Pierce Allord and
Ben Lanman were EIU's two final scored golfers in the field. Allord had a second straight day of shooting 78 as he is tied for 37th with a score of 156. Lanman is 41st after a round of 79 and a 36-hole total of 159.
