#Jeremy Granger# from men's basketball and #Ta'Kenya Nixon# from women's basketball have been named the EIU student-athletes of the week.  This week's award covers games played over the Christmas Holiday break.

Granger helped the Panthers post a 2-2 record over the break including a 1-1 split on the OVC road trip to Tennessee Tech and Jacksonville State.  He averaged 13.8 points per game with 20 assists compared to only six turnovers.  He was 15-of-16 from the free throw line and currently ranks 12th in the NCAA in free throw percentage.

Nixon helped the Panthers split their road OVC trip to Tennessee Tech and Jacksonville State as the sophomore guard scored in double figures in each of the Panthers three holiday break games.  Nixon averaged 19.3 points per game while passing out 18 assists.  She had back-to-back double-doubles at Tennesse Tech and Jacksonville State.
