Abigail Schmitz from women's track and Amber May from softball have been selected the EIU student-athletes of the week.

Schmitz placed third in the pole vault at the Stan Lyons Invite in Indianapolis over the weekend.  The sophomore became the first EIU female to clear 12' as she set the school record with a height of 12'1.25".

May picked up perhaps the two biggest wins of her EIU career as she pitched the Panthers to a series win over Jacksonville State and a share of the OVC Championship.  May was 2-0 on the weekend with a 1.37 ERA and 15 strike outs.
