Ta'Kenya Nixon from women's basketball and Joey Miller from men's basketball have been named the EIU student-athletes of the week.

Nixon helped lead EIU to a 2-1 record for the week as she became the latest member of the 1,000 point club at San Jose State.  Nixon averaged 17.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and 6 assists per game for the week.  She hit 55 percent from the floor.

Miller averaged 15 points per game for the Panthers during a 1-1 week.  He shot 50 percent from the floor and 54 percent from 3-point range.  On Saturday at Central Arkansas his 3-pointer at the buzzer forced a second overtime period.  Miller added 10 assists.
