Megan Gingerich from women's indoor track and Joey Miller from men's basketball have been named the EIU student-athletes of the week.

Gingerich turned in a pair of record setting performances on Friday at the Grand Valley State Big Meet.  Gingerich set the school record in the 800m with a time of 2:09.53.  Gingerich then ran the second leg on the 4x400 relay that set the school record with a time of 3:46.27.

Miller earned his third OVC Freshman of the Week honor after helping EIU sweep a pair of games on the road.  Miller set the EIU Division I era record for freshman points in a game with 28 at UT Martin.  He averaged 19 points per game for the week with 10 points in the win at Tennessee Tech.
