Mick Viken from men's outdoor track and Abby Wood from softball have been selected as the EIU student-athletes of the week.

Viken won the pole vault at the WKU Hilltopper Relays over the weekend as he broke his own school record in the event. Viken cleared 17'8.50" which ranks 9th in the NCAA.

Wood handled the catching duties in all four games for softball including Sunday's doubleheader win over Tennessee Tech which gave EIU seven straight conference wins. Wood his .444 for the week with a pair of runs scored.
