CHARLESTON, Ill. – #Brad Peters# from men’s soccer and #Carrie Riordan# from women’s golf have been named the Eastern Illinois student-athletes of the month for September 2008. Each month during the school year one male and one female student-athlete are recognized for their outstanding performance in their sport.

Peters, a senior forward from St. Peters, Mo., has helped the Panthers open the season with a 5-2-1 record including a No. 9 ranking in the NSCAA Midwest ranking. He has scored 7 goals to rank 11^th nationally in goals scored while his 17 points this season rank 7^th in the nation. During the month Peters moved into 9^th on the Panthers career goals scored list and 10^th on the career points chart.

Riordan, a senior from Spring Valley, Ill., earns her second Athlete of the Month award after helping the Panthers to a tournament victory at Chicago State and a second place team finish at Western Illinois. She has a stroke average of 75 this season placing second at the CSU event and 3^rd at the WIU event.
