Jimmy Garoppolo and Erik Lora both from the football team have been selected as the EIU student-athletes of the week.

Garoppolo was named the OVC Offensive Player of the Week and has won several national honors after passing for 369 yards and five touchdowns in the season opener versus SIU.  The junior became only the seventh player in school history to pass for five or more touchdowns in a game.

Lora currently leads the nation in receiving yardage after hauling in a career high 13 passes for 151 yards against Southern Illinois.  Lora caught two touchdown passes from Garoppolo and then threw a touchdown pass to Chris Wright in the 49-28 victory.
