Britney Whitehead from women's cross country and Jimmy Garoppolo from football have been named the EIU student-athletes of the week.

Whitehead helped the women's team post a fifth place finish in the Blue Division at the Greater Louisville Cross Country Invite over the weekend.  Whitehead finished 9th overall with a time of 18:03.84 which ranks as the 9th fastest time in school history.

Garoppolo continued to post big numbers this weekend as he finished with 453 yards passing in the Panthers 65-15 win over Austin Peay.  That total is the fourth best single game passing total in school history.  He had five touchdown passes all over 50 yards.
