Katlyn Payne and Ta'Kenya Nixon both from women's basketball have been named the EIU student-athletes of the week.

Payne and Nixon helped EIU open Ohio Valley Conference play with a 76-67 win over Tennessee State.

Payne scored 15 points hitting four 3-pointers on the day while picking up two steals and four rebounds.

Nixon led the Panthers with 21 points and eight assists as she was 10-of-16 from the floor.  Nixon added four rebounds and four steals.
