Britney Whitehead from women's indoor track and Janelle Prisner from women's tennis have been selected as the EIU student-athletes of the week.

Whitehead placed first in the 3000m run at the Indiana Relays.  Whitehead won with a time of 9:51.74 which broke the school record that had been set by Robin Smith in 1978.  Whitehead becomes on the third EIU runner to post a sub 10-minute time.

Prisner helped the Panthers tennis team post a season opening win over Evansville.  Playing at number one singles she won 6-2, 6-2.  Playing number one singles with Merritt Whitley she helped EIU secure the doubles point with an 8-7 victory.
