Mick Viken from men's indoor track and Caleb Howell from baseball were selected as the EIU student-athletes of the week.

Viken locked up a spot at the upcoming NCAA Indoor National Championships as he placed second at the Arkansas Last Chance meet in the pole vault. Viken passed his own school record with a height of 17'10.50" to place second.

Howell helped the Panthers pick up a win in the weekend series with Southeastern Conference member Auburn. He hit .417 for the week with 3 RBI. In Friday's win he was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and one driven in.
