Hanna Mennenga from softball and Tyler Carter from men's outdoor track have been named the EIU student-athletes of the week.

Mennenga helped the Panthers sweep a weekend series against Murray State as she picked up all three wins in the circle. Mennenga posted an ERA of 0.41 for the weekend with 21 strike outs including 11 in Friday's complete game shutout win.

Carter opened the 2013 outdoor track season picking up a win in the long jump. Carter, who missed all of 2012, won the event with a jump of 24'3.75" which currently ranks 19th in the NCAA.
