Matt Borens and Treysen Vavra from baseball have been named the EIU student-athletes of the week.

Borens tossed a complete game 3-hit shutout on Friday during the Panthers series win over UT Martin. Borens struck out 12 batters during his nine innings of work.

Vavra hit .400 for the weekend as the Panthers won the weekend series over UT Martin. Vavra scored four runs while driving in five. He had two doubles and one home run.
