Jeff LePak from football and Stephanie Arnold from volleyball have been named the EIU student-athletes of the week.

LePak earned OVC Newcomer of the Week honors after helping the Panthers pick up a 34-16 win at Tennessee State. LePak caught four passes for 112 yards as he was one of three wide receivers with more than 100 yards on the day. He hauled in two touchdown passes but his biggest catch of the day was a 54-yard Hail Mary to end the first half as he was stopped four inches shy of the goal line.

Arnold helped EIU take over first place in the OVC West Division volleyball race earning OVC Player of the Week honors. The senior hit .471 during wins over Murray State and Austin Peay. She hit .810 in the win over MSU going 17-of-21 with no attack errors, the third best single match attack percentage in school history. Arnold finished the weekend with 34 points.
