Hanna Mennenga from softball and Mick Viken from men's outdoor track have been named the EIU student-athletes of the week.

Mennenga was 3-0 in the circle for the Panthers during the week allowing just one run with three complete games.  She had 17 strike outs in the three games posting an ERA of 0.33 for the week.  

Viken placed fourth in the pole vault invitational at the Texas Relays as he cleared 18'0.50".  He became the first EIU athlete in school history to break the 18 foot barrier in the pole vault.
