Brant Valach from baseball and Stephanie Maday from softball have been named the EIU student-athletes of the week.

Valach helped power the Panthers to a series win over Murray State.  He it .600 for the weekend series including a big day on Sunday in the series finale where he hit 3 home runs and drove in six runs.  For the weekend he had 10 RBI.

Maday threw back-to-back shutouts for the Panthers in wins over Eastern Kentucky and Morehead State.  Against MSU she threw a five inning no-hitter as the Panthers won based on the run rule.  She struck out ten batters in each game.
