Matt Borens from baseball and Jalisa Paramore from women's track have been selected as the EIU student-athletes of the week.

Borens went 8.1 innings during a shutout win over Morehead State as the Panthers staff pitched its first shutout of the season. Borens scattered nine hits while striking out seven batters. He currently leads the OVC in strike outs.

Paramore picked up two of the Panthers six individual victories at the EIU Twilight Track Meet on Friday. Paramore won the women's 100m hurdles with a time of 13.73. She won the long jump with a mark of 20'1.75", the second time this year she has been over 20'.
