Maria Baldwin from women's cross country and Abby Saalfrank from volleyball have been named the EIU student-athletes of the week.

Baldwin placed second at the EIU Walt Crawford Open during her first collegiate race. The freshman posted a 5K time of 18:36.57 which helped lead EIU to a team victory in the event for the first time since 2005.

Saalfrank earned All-Tournament team honors as the Panthers placed second at the Western Illinois Tournament over the weekend. Saalfrank posted double figure kills and digs in all three matches with a high of 25 kills in the Friday win over Western Illinois.
