Jalen Whitlow from football and Hannah Miller from women’s soccer have been named the EIU student-athletes of the week.
 
Whitlow helped lead the Panthers to a win in the OVC opener by setting one school rushing record and helping the team tie another.   He set the school record for rushing yards by a quarterback in a game with 137 while scoring two touchdowns.   He led the Panthers ground game that tied the school record with 413 yards.   Whitlow added 159 yards passing with two touchdowns going 13-of-15 passing.
 
Miller helped the Panthers pick up their first win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Chicago State.   Miller scored both of the Panthers goals in the contest marking the first time since last year’s OVC opener that a player has scored multiple goals in a game for EIU.   Miller had four shots on goal in the match knocking home two of them.
