Jalen Whitlow from football and Abby Saalfrank from volleyball have been named the Back To Health EIU student-athletes of the week.

Whitlow helped the Panthers win their fourth straight game as they improved to 5-5 on the season, 5-1 in the OVC.   Whitlow passed for a career high 312 yards with three touchdown passes.   He added one rushing touchdown with 20 yards on the ground.   The junior directed the EIU offense to 104 plays (third most in school history) and 654 yards of total offense (eighth most in school history) during the 48-26 win over Murray State.

Saalfrank powered the EIU volleyball team to a pair of 3-0 sweeps at home against Eastern Kentucky and Morehead State.   The junior right side hitter had 34 kills during the two matches with a hitting percentage of .460 for the weekend.   She added three assists and two service aces as EIU moves towards clinching a spot in the OVC Volleyball Tournament.   Saalfrank was named the OVC Offensive Player of the Week for her efforts.
