Seth McDonald from football and Maria Baldwin from women's cross country have been named the Back To Health EIU student-athletes of the week.

McDonald was named the OVC Defensive Player of the Week after making 17 tackles with 12 solo stops during the Panthers season opener at Western Illinois. McDonald leads the nation in tackles and ranks second in solo tackles. Making his second career start he added two tackles for loss while forcing and recovering a fumble at the 1-yard line.

Baldwin helped lead the Panthers to the team title at the EIU Walt Crawford Open as she placed first in the race with a 5K time of 18:03.48. Baldwin won the race by nearly 16 seconds as she became the first EIU women's runner to win EIU's home meet since 2002.
