Riley McInerney and Maria Baldwin from men's and women's cross country have been named the Back To Health EIU student-athletes of the week. Both athletes turned in dominant performances last week at the Notre Dame Invite to win EIU student-athlete of the week for the second time this fall.

McInerney turned in a top performance as he placed third in the men's 5-mile run with a personal best time of 24:40.7.   McInerney helped pace the men's team to its best finish at the event since the 1970's as EIU was third behind Clemson and North Central College.  McInerney turned in his third top three finish this fall as he was less than one second behind the second place finisher.

Baldwin posted the fifth best 5K time in school history as the sophomore placed seventh in a strong field at the Notre Dame Invite.  Baldwin ran a time of 17:44.5 as she helped EIU place 8th in the field.  It was the second time in Baldwin's career that she has ran a sub-18 minute 5K.  The last time was at the 2014 OVC Championships where she earned second team All-OVC honors.
