Dino Fanti and Tray Mitchell both from football have been named the Back To Health EIU student-athletes of the week after helping the Panthers improve to 5-0 in the Ohio Valley Conference.

Fanti was a force on the defensive line that held one of the nation's leading passers in check for most of the 34-20 win over Murray State.  Fanti had six solo tackles with four tackles for loss and two sacks.  With the four tackles for loss the senior became the EIU career leader for tackles for loss with 46.  He added a forced fumble that resulted in one of three turnovers the Panthers gained in the win.

Mitchell helped EIU regain the early lead as he took the second kickoff of the game and returned it 94 yards for a touchdown giving EIU a 7-6 lead just 19 seconds into the contest.  The kickoff return for touchdown was the first for an EIU player since the 2011 season and the sixth longest in school history.  Mitchell added three pass receptions in the win.
