Riley McInerney from men's track and Anita Saffa from women's track have been named the Back To Health EIU student-athletes of the week.

McInerney won the steeplechase as the Panthers opened the outdoor season at the SIU Bill Cornell Classic.  McInerney had a time of 9:07.66 as he won the event by more than 11 seconds.   McInerney's time is the best in the OVC this season and ranks 11th in the NCAA West Region.

Saffa had a big day as the Panthers opened the outdoor season.  She was part of three second places finishes with her two individual efforts both landing in the EIU career top ten.  Saffa was second in the 100m and 200m while running the opening leg on the second place 4x100m relay squad.  Her 100m and 200m times are both 8th in school history.
