#Sydney Mitchell# of women's basketball and #Shaun Pratl# of men's basketball have been selected as the EIU student-athletes of the week.

Mitchell helped the Panthers open Ohio Valley Conference play with a 2-0 record as she averaged 12.5 points per game hitting 53 percent from the floor.  On Saturday she had 16 points and five assists to contribute to 30 percent of the Panthers points.

Pratl could hardly miss during the week as he averaged 16.5 points per game as EIU posted a 1-1 start to OVC action.  Pratl hit 76 percent from the field including a career-high 19 points on Saturday against Austin Peay.
