STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – Former Eastern Illinois baseball standout Erik Huber, who is currently playing professionally for the Pittsburgh Pirates' affiliate State College Spikes, was featured in the Sunday, July 8 edition of the State College Centre Daily Newspaper.

Huber has the seen the majority of his action thus far in right field and as a designated hitter.
The Spikes, a member team of the New York-Penn League, recently put together a nine-game winning streak and open a six-game homestand July 11. Statecollegespikes.com is the team's home on the Internet.
The two-time Ohio Valley Conference batting champ was selected by the Pirates in the 12th round of the MLB First-Year Player Draft in June. He was the first OVC player selected this season and the first Panther drafted since 2004.
