GAME NOTES

GAME 7
Eastern Illinois heads to Austin Peay on Saturday night to complete its Ohio Valley Conference opening weekend swing. The Panthers improved to 4-2 overall and 1-0 in the OVC with a 83-81 triple overtime win at Tennessee State on Thursday night. It marked the first time EIU has won its OVC opener on the road since the 2002-03 season when they won 85-75 at Southeast Missouri to open conference action. Austin Peay enters the game at 4-4 overall, 1-0 in the OVC after the Governors knocked off SEMO 76-71 in overtime Thursday.

EIU-AUSTIN PEAY SERIES
This will be the 32nd meeting between Eastern Illinois and Austin Peay with the Governors owning the series in recent years. APSU holds a 19-12 all-time series lead including nine straight wins over the Panthers dating back to the 2004-05 season. Last year Austin Peay won all three contests including the first round OVC Tournament game by a 57-54 margin. EIU has not won at the Dunn Center since Jan. 27, 1998, a 90-80 victory.

SCOUTING AUSTIN PEAY
The Governors were selected to finish one spot ahead of Eastern Illinois in the preseason OVC poll as Austin Peay enters the game with a 4-4 record and 1-0 OVC mark. Head coach Dave Loos won his 400th career game on Thursday with a 76-71 overtime victory against Southeast Missouri. APSU lost go to guy Drake Reed from last season but Anthony Campbell (16.9) and Wes Channels (13.1) have picked up some of the load with each averaging in double figures.

FIRST SINCE 2002-03
Eastern Illinois picked up a pair of firsts since the 2002-03 season with Thursday night's win at Tennessee State. It was the first time EIU had won its league opener on the road and first time the Panthers had won at the Gentry Center.
