CHARLESTON, Ill. – With the close of the first decade of the new millennium former Eastern Illinois standout Henry Domercant was one of 26 players selected as members of the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major All-Decade team.

Domercant was one of the nation's most prolific scorers during his EIU career from 2000-03. Three times he ranked among the nation's top five scorers including ranking second in the country in 2002 and 2003. He became only one of 11 players ever to rank in the top five in scoring for three seasons at the NCAA Division I level.

A 2002 All-American, Domercant finished his career as the OVC and EIU career scoring leader with 2,602 points. That total currently ranks 30th on the NCAA Division I all-time list and fourth among players in the state of Illinois. He was the 2002 OVC Player of the Year and holds 15 EIU single season or career scoring records. In 2001 he teamed with Kyle Hill to help lead the Panthers to the NCAA Tournament.

This season Eastern Illinois is celebrating a 100 years of men's intercollegiate basketball. Domercant was selected as one of the ten players named to the Panthers All-Century team. The game to culminate the 100 year basketball celebration will take place on Feb. 27 against Tennessee State.

Inducted into the EIU Athletic Hall of Fame in 2009, Domercant is currently playing professional basketball in Italy.  Other names of note on the list are former UT Martin guard Lester Hudson and San Diego All-Pro tight end Antonio Gates, a former player at Kent State.
