CHICAGO -- Overnight rain showers and more precipitation forecasted for today has caused the cancellation of Wednesday's Eastern Illinois-Chicago State baseball game.
EIU head coach Jim Schmitz said he was working with the CSU staff on a possible make up date.
Should the game not be made up, it would be the Panthers' first cancellation of the season. Eastern was rained out on the opening night of its spring break trip at South Florida but the game was made up the next day as part of a doubleheader.
The Panthers are slated to return to action Saturday for a 1 p.m. doubleheader against Morehead State. Having played at home last weekend and hosted Illinois College Tuesday, it would now become a six-game homestand.
