April 4, 1981 - Senior Augustine Oruwari is seen winning the 110m hurdles at the Eastern Illinois Invitational held at O'Brien Field. Oruwari was on his way to becoming an NCAA Division II National Champion winning the title with a time of 13.9 seconds. Oruwari still ranks fourth on the Panthers career top ten list for the 110m hurdles with a career best mark of 13.8 set in 1979.

A native of Port Harcourt, Nigeria, Oruwari was selected to represent his native country at the 1976 Olympics in Montreal before Nigeria withdrew from the Olympic Games. He was a two-time All-American selection advancing to the NCAA Division II National Championships four times.
