WATERLOO, Iowa – Northern Iowa's Ashley Sill found the back of the net only 54 seconds into the contest to defeat the Eastern Illinois women's soccer team, 1-0, in the season opener for both squads.
Ashley Sill connected on what would be the lone goal of the match off a corner kick by UNI teammate Melissa Hagan.
“We had a lack of focus in the first few minutes of the match,” said Eastern Illinois head coach Summer Perala. “We had a miss communication and poor positioning on their corner kick and couldn't clear it. We came out big in the second half and took control of the game in my opinion, but we unable to score a goal to tie the match.”

Meagan Radloff paced the EIU offense with two shots (one on goal).
