CHARLESTON, Ill. – Senior
Kristin Germann scored her second goal of the match only one minute into overtime to lift the Panther women's soccer team over Belmont, 2-1, on Friday evening at Lakeside Field.
Germann got a one-touch pass from three yards out on the right from freshman

Caitlin Greene. Belmont dropped to 7-8-2 (3-4-2 OVC) with the loss.
In the 39
th minute, Germann gave the Panthers a 1-0 advantage with a goal from five yards out on the right. Germann played her own rebounded ball off the Bruins goalkeeper who made a save on her previous shot on goal. Belmont's Cassie Blasé eventually tied the match at one with her first goal of the season in the 75
th minute, nailing a shot from 25 yards out on the right – just outside the top of the box.
Germann paced the Panther offense with seven shots (six on goal) while
Jessie Morgan added two shots on goal. A total of five Belmont players each had one shot on goal as no Bruin had more than one shot in the match.
EIU took 11 more shots (18-7) than Belmont, including five more shots on goal (10-5). The Panthers took one more corner kick (5-4) than the Bruins while Belmont committed two more fouls (8-6).
Senior goalkeeper
Jessica Taldone (2-10) took the win in goal for EIU, making four saves and surrendering one goal. Nicole Berner (7-7-2) recorded the loss for Belmont, allowing two goals while making eight saves.
The Panthers end the 2012 campaign with a 6-12-1 (4-5-1 OVC) record. EIU failed to make the OVC Tournament as they finished seventh in the regular-season standings.
