BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – The 2012 Ohio Valley Conference Baseball Championship field is now set with the Eastern Illinois baseball team earning the No. 4 seed. The Panthers will face No. 5 Morehead State in first-round action at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 23.
The event will be held May 23-26 (27) at Pringles Park in Jackson, Tenn. This year marks the third year in a row the event will be held at the venue, which is home of the Jackson Generals, the AA-affiliate of the Seattle Mariners.
After not making the tournament a year ago, EIU (26-27, 15-11 OVC) is back in the field this season after closing the regular season by winning 11 of its final 15 games. The Panthers are looking to capture their first OVC Tournament Title since 2008.
Fans can watch the entire 2012 OVC Baseball Tournament live at OVCSports.TV. There is no charge to watch the event. Links to live video will be available at OVCSports.com prior to first pitch each day.
Tickets for the event will be $10 per day or $30 for an all-session pass (up to 11 total games). There is also a $8 a day rate for students/faculty of OVC-member schools (with valid ID) or groups. All seats at the 6,000-seat park are general admission for the OVC Championship.
