CHARLESTON, Ill. - Eastern Illinois senior track and field athlete Bridget Sanchez has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District 5 second team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). 

Sanchez recently finished her Panther career with a 4.00 GPA in psychology helping EIU win four straight Ohio Valley Conference Indoor and Outdoor Track Championships.  Sanchez competed in the 100m, 200m and 400m during her career earning All-Conference honors on several occasions.  This season she was named an OVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year and was one of ten female finalists for the Arthur Ashe Jr. Award.
