Ta'Kenya Nixon hit the winning shot in the game as she became the all-time leading scorer in program history.

IN THE PAINT
• Eastern Illinois ranked third in the Ohio Valley Conference last year in team field goal percentage at 39.9 percent. Only two teams in the league shot over 40 percent from the field led by Tennessee Tech at 42.3 percent.

• Katlyn Payne was second on the EIU squad with 48 3-pointers made last season. That total ranked seventh on the EIU single season list. Payne was 14th in the OVC in 3-pointers made per game and 15th in 3-point field goal percentage.

• Jordyne Crunk led EIU from the free throw line hitting 85.3 percent making 58-of-68 attempts. Crunk would have ranked third in the OVC but did not qualify based on number of attempts. Crunk is an 80.6 percent free throw shooter for her career.

• Sabina Oroszova swatted away 58 shots last season to rank second in the OVC in blocks per game. The 58 blocks ranked second on the EIU single season list behind Rachel Galligan with 61. Oroszova enters the season with 83 career blocks, seventh on the EIU career list.

• Sabina Oroszova is the Panthers top returning scorer and rebounder from last season at 5.9 points and 7 rebounds per game. Her 7 rebounds per game led EIU last season and ranked ninth in the OVC.

• Taryn Olson averaged 13.7 minutes per game off the bench last season with one start against Sacramento State. Olson averaged 2.7 points and 2.7 rebounds per game off the bench. In her one start Olson was hampered by early foul trouble as she was held scoreless while pulling down four rebounds.

• EIU will be replacing four seniors from last year's squad, three of which finished their careers as 1,000 point scorers. EIU must replace its top four scorers which accounted for nearly two-thirds of the Panthers point production scoring 45.7 points per game.

• The Panthers have added some height to play on this year's team with the addition of 6-5 forward Kaycee Kallenberger who may be the tallest player in EIU women's basketball history. Kallenberger is one of five new players on the EIU squad. Four of the players are high school products with Arnisha Thomas a junior transferring after two seasons at the junior college level in Illinois and Iowa.
