UT Martin Beats Women's Soccer In Overtime

Panthers drop 2-1 contest on Senior Day

CHARLESTON, Ill. – Eastern Illinois honored its six members of its women's soccer senior class on Sunday afternoon as the Panthers fell in overtime, 2-1, to UT Martin in the final home match of the season for EIU.
 
EIU fell to 2-13-2 on the year, 1-6-1 in the OVC as the Panthers will wrap up the season next weekend at Eastern Kentucky and Morehead State.   UTM improved to 10-5-1 overall, 4-2-1 in the OVC.
 
Rianna Jarrett won the match for UT Martin as she headed home a corner kick with just under a minute remaining in the first overtime period.   The corner kick was served up by Dominika Conc.
 
EIU took an early lead in the match as Chris Reed scorer on a header in the 10th minute.   Reed's goal came following a deflection on a shot by Meagan Radloff after the ball had been served into the box by Allie Lakie.
 
UTM tied the match at 1-1 three and a half minutes later as Conc scored in the 13th minute.   She powered a shot into the upper right corner from 35 yards out after a pass from Alyssa Curtis.
 
Emily Hinton made 12 saves for EIU as the Skyhawks had a 23-8 total shots advantage.   Mariah Klenke made six saves for UTM.
 
The Panthers six seniors playing their final home match included Meagan Radloff, Allie Lakie, Madison Carter, Lauren Rusk, Ellen Campbell and Lauren Hoppensteadt.
