Women's Soccer Season Ends On The Road

EIU falls 5-0 at Morehead State on Sunday afternoon

MOREHEAD, Ky. – Eastern Illinois women's soccer season came to a close on Sunday afternoon as the Panthers lost 5-0 on the road at Morehead State.   The match ended the careers of EIU seniors Madison Carter, Allie Lakie, Meagan Radloff, Lauren Rusk, Ellen Campbell and Lauren Hoppensteadt.
 
EIU ends the season at 2-15-2 overall, 1-8-1 in the OVC.   Morehead State improved to 9-5-5 overall, 4-3-2 in the OVC.
 
Defender Emily Wolf was called to action in goal after finishing in the net on Friday at Eastern Kentucky.   Wolf made eight saves as Morehead State had 13 shots on goal and 28 shots total.
 
Macy Cobb scored in the fourth minute as the ball slipped past the goalkeeper on an assist by Jade Flory.  EIU had an own goal in the 12th minute and the Eagles increased the lead to 3-0 in the 21st minute on a goal by Flory.
 
Elizabeth Tresnak and Kelsey Gomez capped Morehead State's scoring in the second half.
 
EIU had three shots for the game with two shots on goal.  Allie Lakie and Lauren Rusk had the Panthers shot on goal attempts in their final collegiate matches.
