CHARLESTON, Ill. – Eastern Illinois women's soccer responded to an early injury to its starting goalkeeper but could not maintain the momentum as Valparaiso scored three second half goals to pull away for a 3-1 win Friday afternoon at Lakeside Field.
EIU dropped to 0-7-1 on the year and will travel to Chicago State on Sunday afternoon. Valparaiso improved to 3-1-4 on the year.

Kylie Morgan was injured in the 29th minute following a hard collision near the Panthers goal box. The injury seemed to spark the Panthers as they scored one minute later.
Lindsey Marino scored as her header spun just over the goal line on a ball served into the box by
Allie Lakie.
EIU would lead 1-0 at the half despite being outshot 6-1. EIU would have only four shots for the match with the three in the second half coming in the final ten minutes.
Emily Hinton replaced Morgan in goal and made five saves.
Valpo tied the game in the 57th minute as Vanesa Abad touched in a cross in front of the goal. The ball was sent in by April Cronin.
Cronin put the Crusaders ahead in the 66th minute with her header on an assist by Rita Craven.
Robin Wenzel added an insurance goal in the 80th minute as she stole a pass and scored on a breakaway goal with a flick just over the goalkeeper's head.
