CHARLESTON, Ill. - Eastern Illinois scored both its goals on penalty kicks in a two minute span late in the second half but could not overcome a hat trick by IUPUI's Krissy Kirkhoff falling 3-2 on Sunday afternoon at Lakeside Field.

IUPUI improved to 2-4-1 on the year.  EIU dropped to 0-6.  The Panthers will host UW Green Bay next Sunday at 1 p.m.

After a scoreless first half Kirkhoff put the Jaguars on the board in the 48th minute as she scored on a breakaway goal after a sharp pass up the middle of the field by Grace Perkowitz.  Kirkhoff's second goal came in the 57th minute as she redirected a ball in traffic in front of the goal box.  The assist was credited to Alyssa Fox.

EIU continued to apply pressure despite the two goal deficit.  The Panthers made two late runs at the goal with the attacker twice pulled down from behind by an IUPUI defender inside the goal box.  Meagan Radloff took the first penalty kick in the 78th minute.   Chris Reed followed in the 80th minute with a penalty kick after making the run herself.  It was Reed's third goal of the season and third consecutive game with a goal.

After resting on the bench with a two-goal lead, Kirkhoff returned to the field following the second EIU penalty kick.  She again found a ball directed into the box by Perkowitz and scored from eight yards out with the game winner in the 82nd minute.

IUPUI goalkeeper Nicole Kulovitz made five saves while EIU goalkeeper Kyle Morgan made four.
