THE GAME• Eastern Illinois looks to keep pace in the Ohio Valley Conference race as the Panthers are one of three undefeated teams in the OVC at 3-0 after a 25-22 overtime win at Tennessee State. EIU remained tied on top of the OVC standings with Eastern Kentucky and Jacksonville State. EIU hosts both EKU and JSU at O'Brien Field in November.
• Eastern Illinois played its second overtime game of the season last Saturday beating Tennessee State, 25-22, at Nissan Stadium. It was 12th overtime game in school history with EIU posting a 5-7 record in OT contests. The Panthers lost earlier this year in one overtime to Illinois State in the Mid-America Classic.

Devin Church was named the OVC Newcomer of the Week rushing for 125 yards and two touchdowns at Tennessee State. Church leads the OVC in touchdowns this year.
• Eastern Illinois University will be celebrating its 100th Homecoming weekend on as the Panthers host Tennessee Tech. EIU's first homecoming was in 1915 with the football team picking up a 52-6 win over Shurtleff College. EIU has had an on campus homecoming celebration every year since 1915 but did not play homecoming football games in 1918 and 1943 due to EIU not fielding a team during World War 1 and World War 2. EIU is 50-40-8 all-time in homecoming football games including three straight wins.
THE SERIES• This will be the 22nd meeting between Eastern Illinois and Tennessee Tech. The Panthers lead the all-time series 15-6 with three straight wins in the series. EIU won in Cookeville, 41-10, last season. The last TTU win in the series was 2011 with a 30-21 victory at O'Brien Field. This will be the third time that EIU has hosted Tennessee Tech for its homecoming football game. EIU beat TTU 23-15 during its 2009 homecoming game. TTU beat EIU 14-7 for the Panthers 1999 homecoming contest.
