Eastern Illinois will travel to Marshall on Wednesday to play its first game in the Global Sports Classic Tournament.  EIU will play its second game in the tournament on Dec. 19 at Houston and then wrap up tournament play with two games in Las Vegas on Dec. 21 and 22.   EIU is 2-4 on the season after an overtime win over Northern Kentucky on Saturday night.  EIU won both games last week starting with a win over Indiana State.  Marshall enters the week at 0-6 after a Sunday road loss at James Madison. 

JOHNSTON LIFTS TEAM IN OVERTIME
Cornell Johnston lifted Eastern Illinois to its second straight win scoring 10 of his 24 points in overtime as the Panthers beat Northern Kentucky.   Johnston had two 3-pointers, a jumper and two free throws in the extra session.  The 24 points were a career high for Johnston as he averaged 16.5 points for the week going 5-of-10 from 3-point range and 11-of-21 from the field.  Johnston added seven assists with one turnover.

TESON WINS OVC FRESHMAN AWARD
Last week against Indiana State Casey Teson knocked down 6-of-8 shots from 3-point range to set the EIU freshman record for 3-pointers in a game.  On Monday he was named the Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Week for his performance against both ISU and Northern Kentucky.  Teson finished with 18 points against the Sycamores and then added nine more points against NKU.  He was 9-of-14 from 3-point range for the week and ranks third in the OVC in 3-pointers made per game.
