OVC Medal of Honor ReleaseBRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Eastern Illinois had four teams earn Ohio Valley Conference Team Academic Achievement Awards as the league wrapped up a week of announcements in which the Panthers had the highest number of student-athletes earn both OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll and OVC Medal of Honor status.
EIU won OVC Team Academic Achievement Awards in women's golf, women's soccer, men's tennis and volleyball. The league announced a total of 16 team awards which are presented annually in each Conference-sponsored sport to the member institution's team with the greatest percentage of its eligible student-athletes who achieved a 3.25 grade point average or higher.
Belmont University was awarded the 2014-15 Ohio Valley Conference Institutional Academic Achievement Award. The award is presented annually to the member institution with the greatest percentage of its eligible student-athletes that earn a 3.25 grade point average or higher for that academic year.
In total, nine different member institutions garnered at least one team award. The 2014-15 OVC team and institution honorees are as follows:

The awards cap a week of announcements regarding 2014-15 academic year awards. Last week it was announced that a record 1,275 OVC student-athletes were named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll (for having a 3.25 GPA or better) while on Monday the league honored 199 student-athletes who achieved perfect 4.0 GPA's with the Academic Medal of Honor Presented by Army ROTC.
